Frequently asked questions
We have collected answers to the questions parents most often have before visiting Aquatic.
-
What is a children's CHECK-UP?
A CHECK-UP is a comprehensive preventive assessment of a child. Its purpose is to evaluate your child's health and development and to pick up any possible deviations in good time.
Depending on age, the program may include examinations by several pediatric specialists, ultrasound and other diagnostics.
If during the check-up the doctor finds something that needs a closer look, they will recommend a full consultation with the relevant specialist.
-
How is a CHECK-UP different from an ordinary doctor's consultation?
A CHECK-UP is a preventive screening in which the doctor assesses the main indicators of your child's health and development.
A consultation is a more detailed appointment about a specific complaint or problem: the doctor takes a full history, examines the child, reviews any previous tests and, if needed, sets out what to do next.
So if something specific is troubling your child, it is sometimes better to book a separate specialist consultation straight away.
-
Why does one doctor's examination during a check-up take less time than a regular consultation?
Because these appointments have different purposes.
During a CHECK-UP the specialist carries out a preventive screening, which takes on average about 5–10 minutes per doctor.
If something is found that needs closer study, parents are advised to book a separate consultation, where the doctor can give the situation the time it deserves.
-
Can we see just one doctor without going through a CHECK-UP?
Of course.
At Aquatic you can book any specialist separately. We don't offer a comprehensive program when a family needs to resolve one specific question.
If, from what you describe, it turns out that an assessment by several specialists would help your child, our administrator will tell you about a suitable option — the decision always stays with the parents.
-
How do we know which specialist our child needs?
You don't have to work that out on your own.
Tell our administrator your child's age and exactly what concerns you. We will help you choose the right specialty or program.
The administrator does not diagnose or prescribe treatment — medical decisions are made by a doctor and no one else.
-
Nothing is troubling our child. Is a CHECK-UP still worth it?
Prevention is precisely what CHECK-UP programs are for.
You don't have to wait for symptoms to appear before assessing your child's health and development. A comprehensive assessment covers the key specialists and the tests appropriate for your child's age.
We pay particular attention to preventive examinations during a child's first year.
-
How long does a comprehensive CHECK-UP take?
We try to schedule the specialists and tests one after another, so that your child can get through most of the assessment in a single visit.
The duration depends on the program chosen and on how busy the doctors are. For a number of comprehensive programs, the approximate time is around 90 minutes.
-
Can we see the doctors and have the diagnostics done in one place?
Yes. That is one of the core ideas behind Aquatic.
At the center you can see pediatric specialists and have the necessary tests done, and then continue with follow-up or rehabilitation therapies if needed.
Our aim is to make your child's care easy for parents to follow and, wherever possible, to spare the family from travelling between several medical facilities.
-
What diagnostics are available at Aquatic?
Within our programs and as prescribed by our specialists, the center provides various types of ultrasound and functional diagnostics.
For comprehensive children's assessments Aquatic runs two ultrasound machines, which makes it easier to organise the CHECK-UP programs.
For newborns, non-invasive bilirubin testing with a Bilitest device is also available — with no skin puncture.
-
What should we do if our child isn't holding their head up, isn't sitting, or their development worries us?
In situations like these, it is best not to try to work out a diagnosis yourself from a list of symptoms. Tell us your child's age and exactly what concerns you. Our administrator will help you find the right specialist or a suitable assessment.
When there is a specific complaint, a full consultation with a doctor may take priority over a preventive CHECK-UP.
-
Are there queues at Aquatic?
We see children by appointment and do our best to keep to the schedule.
A short delay is sometimes possible if the previous young patient needs more time. In such cases we try to let parents know in advance.
For us it matters more to see a child calmly and thoroughly than to finish exactly on the minute.
-
You are on the second floor. How do we get up there with a small child and a stroller?
If you need a hand, our administrator will meet you at the entrance and help you upstairs.
You can leave the stroller on the ground floor, so that it is easier for you to move around the center with your baby.
-
How safe are the hydrotherapy baths for a baby?
The child's safety during the procedure is a non-negotiable condition.
Aquatic has a rule: one bath — one child — one instructor.
During the procedure the child is never left in the water without a specialist watching directly.
The water temperature is checked before every session, and between procedures the water is changed and the bath is disinfected, with a record made in the relevant log.
Before the first visit, parents are also given information about how the procedure is carried out.
-
Do we need to sign anything before procedures and tests?
Yes.
Before a medical appointment, an ultrasound, or procedures such as massage, therapeutic exercise or a hydrotherapy bath, the parent completes the required informed consent.
This is part of Aquatic's internal safety standards.
-
Can the clinic publish photographs of my child?
Only with your consent.
Publishing a photo or video of a child on social media or in any other Aquatic material requires separate written consent from a parent.
Without such consent, a child's photograph, name or medical information is not published.
-
Can we have an assessment done before kindergarten or school?
Yes.
Aquatic offers the “Child Health Passport Preschool” program for children aged 3–9.
It is designed as a comprehensive preventive assessment, including when preparing documents for kindergarten or school.
When booking, tell our administrator which institution the assessment is for and which documents are required, so that we can help you choose the right option.
-
Can we stay with Aquatic on an ongoing basis, rather than coming just once?
Yes. That approach is at the heart of Aquatic's philosophy.
Rather than stopping at a single visit, we aim to look after your child's health as they grow: preventive examinations in the first year, follow-up assessments later on, preparation for kindergarten and school, and continued care after that.
We don't sell appointments. We stay with the family.
Didn't find the answer you were looking for?
